Caldwell The Steady Rest NXT
The Caldwell Steady Rest NXT is basically a simple, lightweight shooting rest that gives you a stable platform for zeroing rifles, pistols, and even patterning shotguns without needing a full benchrest setup. It’s modular, so you can use it as a full front-and-rear rest, split it into sections, or just use the front part on its own for handguns. The contact points are made from non-marring materials, so it won’t scratch your firearm, and it’s got a neoprene pad for a bit of extra grip and cushioning. It also gives you about 3 inches of vertical adjustment, which is enough to get your sight picture sorted without faffing around with stacks of bags. It’s light, simple, and more “range convenience” than heavy-duty competition gear.
